We acknowledge and celebrate treating a region that too often fails to be prioritized
... because you are more than worth it.

About The Floor PDX

The Floor PDX was founded after the owner tried to find help with her own incontinence and pelvic pain after feeling the system had failed her.

After attempting to find pelvic floor PT, she was left with only kegels, treatments provided solely on a table, and feeling her symptoms didn't matter.

The Floor PDX was founded to never allow another person with a vulva to feel their symptoms didn't matter or that they had to settle with something that caused shame.

We pride ourselves in using trauma-informed care to educate and empower you to find healing with treatments provided in the positions that cause the issue.

Services

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

We are a company that understands that for a long period of time no one spoke about the pelvic floor. Though this may be common it doesn’t have to be your normal.  We treat all presentations of pelvic floor rehabilitation including but not limited to Diastasis Recti, prolapse, pelvic pain, birth prep, vulvadynia, vestibulodynia, perimenopause/postmenopause changes (list is not exhausted)

Fitter Floor Semi Private Training

The Fitter Floor is an 8 week Semi Private training program that meets 2x/week and blends a transition for those who either have had pelvic involvement in the past or have just graduated/been cleared to participate from our Doctors of PT.  You progress through our pelvic health specific program to improve dynamic stability, reactivity, and bracing in a shared group environment lead by one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy.

Pessary Fitting

In house pessary fittings to assist in providing an "internal sports bra" when needed for those wanting to manage prolapse conservatively.

The Floor PDX Approach

One on One Every Time

Every treatment session is completely in a truly private room by the same Doctor of Physical therapy that you began with (if you so choose).  We don't share you with aides or assistants believing that once you have shared details with one provider - you may not want to again.

Pelvic health is innately an intimate topic and with that often comes associated trauma. We provide trauma informed care and feel confident in our referral network to partner with mental health therapists for a collaborative approach to healing.

Trauma-Informed Care

In-Line Dynamometers

These are items we utilize to get true strength measurements which means we aren't guessing when we say you have increased your strength - we can tangibly see it with hard data.

Patient Reviews

"If you're pregnant, postpartum, or just feeling a little lost in your own body, I can't recommend this practice enough. It's a place where you can heal, feel like yourself again, not to mention strong and informed."

Rachael A.

"All I can say is they are the BEST! ... the 5th Physical Therapist I have seen for my pelvic floor and I feel like I finally was heard.  She really listened and helped me not feel like I was crazy. I appreciate that she looked at the big picture and treated me with respect and care..."

Kate S.

"Blown away by first appointment... knowledgable and personable, and I learned so much in my first hour with her. I left feeling encouraged, hopeful and excited about my treatment plan and cannot wait to come back next week to continue my work ... I wish I hadn't waited so long to make an appointment with The Floor PDX."

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a treatment session typically look like?

The session is spent doing an in depth understanding of your history, your personal goals, and education to help you be an informed participant in your healing journey.  Then it is up to you to determine whether or not you're comfortable with an internal vaginal exam that can be moved to the next treatment session (or never done dependent on your comfort level)!  Then a game plan is created to return you to what you are wanting to get back to!
